FME System Requirements

From version 2022.0 onwards, FME will be available exclusively as a 64-bit version. The manufacturer Safe Software is expected to provide patches for the 32-bit version of FME 2021.2.x until 2026, so that a stable 32-bit version will also be available in the medium term (further information can also be found at: https://community.safe.com/s/article/FME-32-bit-Windows-Continued-Support). FME on macOS does not support case-sensitive file systems

FME Flow should run on almost any virtualization provider's platform, on any supported operating system. FME Form additionally requires GUI support (most leading vendors such as AWS and DigitalOcean provide this, but a small number of other services may not).

Safe Software is no longer recommending hardware requirements. Although FME can operate on legacy hardware, additional memory, faster CPU and disk will significantly improve processing time.

Note: You can easily scale FME Flow's processing power by purchasing additional FME Engine licenses. For optimal performance, we recommend that each engine have a dedicated core. If you want to deploy FME Flow without the constraints of hardware, contact us on FME Flow Hosted.
