3D Data Processing with FME
Introduction to 3D data processing with FME
After a short introduction to FME Form, the 3D geometry model and the handling of different geometry representations and properties will be explained. In addition to reading and writing CityGML with FME, the BIM related IFC format is presented in detail and trained with practical examples. The focus for this training is on generating valid output from heterogeneous input data and the validation of those files. Furthermore, a close look is set on point cloud data, as well as 3D streaming formats (I3S, Cesium) for a performant web visualization.
During the training, participants will be supervised by an experienced trainer who uses practical exercises to convey the knowledge interactively and is able to answer possible questions.
Target Group
Producers or users of 3D city models, FME Form users, GIS administrators.

The participants are able to read, create, validate, process and convert 3D data with FME.

Technical requirements
A computer with internet capability and a current browser.
Microphone and loudspeaker. Recommended, but not mandatory, is the use of two monitors, a headset and a camera.
Access to the virtual classrooms of con terra GmbH. All software required for the training is installed and licensed in the virtual classrooms. To enable access, con terra GmbH provides participants with an RDP file that must be saved on the computer in advance.
Use of the Zoom web conferencing system. Here you can test in advance whether your security settings and access rights allow the use of the software.
Preconditions
Basic knowledge of FME Form and 3D data processing.
